- Starting Instructions:
- Select the desired year, month, day, and hour (UTC) when you
want the animation to start (or accept the default values shown on the
corresponding buttons). To make a selection, place the cursor on the
button, click and hold to get a menu, and select the value you want
from the menu. The default values indicate the oldest image available
in the archive.
- Select the desired length of the animation (or accept the
default of 1 day).
- Select the interval between images (or accept the default of
2 hours).
- Press the "Build Animation" button.
The interval between images partly determines the total number
of images in the animation and hence both the downloading time
and the extent to which changes occur from one image to the
next. For example, an animation length of 1 day with an
interval between images of 2 hours will generate an animation
with 13 images in it, covering a 24-hour period starting with the
image at the time you specify, with 2 hours between images.
Missing images are listed and automatically skipped.
- To step through animations frame-by-frame, first press the
"Stop" button ("*"), then press the "Next" button ("|>")
repeatedly to advance frames one at a time. Similarly, press the
"Prev" button ("|<") to step backward one frame at a time.
- To restart the animation after stopping it, press the "Restart"
button (">").
